The PTE test is definitely better than IELTS for the following reasons:
1. Fast results
The result of the PTE test will be out in less than 12 hours in 80% of the cases. This is compared to 13 days standard wait for getting your IELTS result. Even the new computer-based IELTS produces results no sooner than 5 days.
2. Better results
Compared to IELTS, getting an 8 band average score in the PTE is much easier compared to IELTS, especially when it comes to writing score.
3. Shorter test time
IELTS tests are offered mainly on Saturdays from 9 to 12 excluding the speaking test. On the other hand, the PTE test can last between 2.45 to 3.15 hours including the speaking section each and every day of the week.
4. More date and time options
The PTE test offers a variety of times to sit the test from 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening. You can choose the time that suits you best. You don’t have to sit the test on a fixed day and time.
5. Better test feedback
Finally, the IELTS test assesses you on four main skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, while the PTE on top of these four skills will assess you on six other subskills such as grammar, oral fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary and written discourse.
