Is PTE computer-based test?

Yes, the PTE test or Pearson Test of English is a test that should be done on a computer. Unlike the IELTS test, all four sections of Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening are done on a PC.

Although you can do our free PTE mock test online and get your score card immediately after your test, the real PTE test should be done in an authorized PTE test center. This is a precautionary measure to ensure all their test materials stay in their centers.

Also, you need to be fairly good at typing on a keyboard as well. This skill will become handy especially in the Writing and the first part of the listening module.

Like most international tests, PTE candidates need to take a valid passport for a proof of identity to be allowed to sit the PTE Academic test.
