There are 3 sections in the PTE test that will incur you negative marking. These three sections are:

Reading: Multiple-choice, choose multiple answers

PTE candidates will get 2-3 MCCMA questions in their PTE Reading module. To be able to easily distinguish these questions from other multiple choice answer questions, pay attention to the square next to each choice.

Listening: Multiple-choice, choose multiple answers  

PTE candidates will get 2-3 MCCMA questions in their PTE Listening module. To be able to easily distinguish these questions from other multiple choice answer questions, pay attention to the square next to each choice.

Highlight Incorrect Words

PTE candidates will get 2-3 HIW pages (questions) in their PTE Listening section. Each HIW page has 4-6 wrong words that PTE candidates need to highlight by clicking on them.
