PTE (Pearson Test of English) academic test is a computerized test delivered only in authorized PTE test centers around the world. It has become one of the most popular English language proficiency tests with students and immigrants. The test consists of four modules of Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening, respectively. These four modules will take around 2 hours to complete and a test score report will be emailed to candidates who have completed the test after 2 to 48 hours of their test.

The Speaking module

This module consists of the following test items appearing in the same order in the test: Read aloud, Repeat sentence, Describe image, Re-tell lecture, Answer short questions.

The Writing module

This module comprises two test items; Summarize written text and Essay writing.

The Reading module

This part of the test consists of the following test items:

Reading & Writing fill in the blanks, Re-order paragraph, Multiple choice choose multiple answers, Reading fill in the blanks and Multiple choice choose single answer.

The Listening module

The listening module consists of the following test items respectively;

Summarize spoken test, Multiple choice choose multiple answers, Fill in the blanks listening, Highlight correct summary, Multiple choice choose single answer, Select missing word, Highlight incorrect word and Write from dictation.

PTE scoring system

Candidates will get a score of 10-90 for each of the four communicative skills and 6 enabling skills. An average score of 10-90 will be issued for each candidate. How is your PTE average calculated? Watch a YouTube video.
