Pearson English Test Reading sample

The PTE’s most important reading sections are Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks (R&WFIB) and Reading Fill in the Blanks (RFIB). Some samples of these two sections will be covered here.

1. Reading & Writing Fill in the Blanks (R&WFIB)

The Reading and writing: Fill in the blanks section contributes the highest number of points to your reading score. As the title of the item implies, it also adds points to your writing score. You also need to wisely manage your time in the reading section, so, spend between 30 to 50 seconds on each blank. For example, if a page has four blanks, you need to spend between 2 to 4 minutes on answering those questions and since there are no points deducted for wrong answers in this section, leave no blanks unanswered. You have 3 minutes to do the following PTE reading sample.

2. Reading Fill in the Blanks (RFIB)

Reading: Fill in the blanks contributes points only to your reading score. In this section, spend 30 to 40 seconds on each blank. First, start by reading the choices in the box below the text. Then, start reading the text itself. If you are not sure about the answer to a blank, move on to the next one. If you start by dragging and dropping the choices you are sure of, you will be left with a better chance of getting others right.

Spend 2 minutes on doing the following sample exercise.
