IELTS 8 is equivalent to 79 each in the PTE Test.
The highest point for immigration is awarded to holders of 8 or higher across each skill in the IELTS test. Similarly, if you like to take the PTE test, the highest point will be awarded to those who have scored 79 or higher in each skill in this test.
The PTE score report scores the candidates’ performance on two sets of criteria namely Communicative and Enabling skills.
Communicative skills comprise the following sub-skills: Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening.
While Enabling skills consist of the following subsections; Grammar, Oral Fluency, Pronunciation, Spelling, Vocabulary and Written Discourse. Your Enabling skills do not have a direct impact on your average score. This means you can still have an average of 79 in your PTE score, while one or more of your Enabling scores are under 79 points. To read more on how your average score is calculated read this post or watch this video on how your Enabling skills can affect your overall score.
