PTE registration and PTE test dates availability after COVID-19 relaxation

Background

After almost three months of lockdown and strict social distancing, the Australian Government relaxed the rules of social distancing. This means that the PTE Test centers can resume taking the PTE test, but only at half of their full capacity. This is because candidates sit at every other computer in each center. Consequently, it has led to a backlog of test takers and, in turn, longer wait to get an appointment.

Melbourne, for example, has nine PTE test centers. And as of today 15th of June, the earliest date available for booking is 12th of August in the Box Hill test center as you can see in the following photo.

What if you needed to book a test immediately?

The best way to tackle this issue is to check the availability of test dates every now and then. This is because a few candidates may cancel their tests due to sickness or other personal reasons. If you check the dates a few times a day, you are bound to find a newly cancelled date that could fit your timetable. At the time of this search, 15th of June, the Box Hill Test Center just had a date available for 16th of June.

This is a good opportunity for those who are prepared for the test and require their result really quick.
