Answer Short Questions is the last item of the Speaking module in the PTE test. Here, PTE candidates will listen to a question and then need to answer it with only one or two words only. PTE candidates will get 10-12 Answer Short Questions in their test. There is no negative points for wrong answers here. So do not leave any question unanswered.
Because you need to listen to and understand the questions to come up with the right answer, Answer Short Questions items will share their points with the Listening and Speaking sections. Almost 80% of the points go to the listening skill and the rest go towards the speaking skill. In the hierarchy of the PTE speaking items, Answer Short Questions items sit at the bottom while Repeat Sentence questions is at the top.
